[1966] The Eyes - The Immediate Pleasure
listen to the song:

The Eyes, were an Freakbeat and Garage Rock group from London in the 60's. I don't know much about them, but that they have realeased a load of singles and Acme licenced them and putted out a propper reissue of them in a compilation in 2006 together with Lion Productions. Sooner or later I will post another song form this comp, wich is entitled "The Arrival of the Eyes" and also feat. alternate takes/demos. Some of the tracks (as well as this one) are quite psychedelic! "The Immediate Pleasure" for example leans toward a strong Byrds vein (before they had their "cowboy attitude" ;-) ) mixed up with that certain british beat of the 60's, the Beatles cultivated.

[1966] The Doppler Effect - God Is Alive In Argentina
listen to the song:
I actually saw this band live at 1601 W Evans (The Family Dog) in Denver sometime in '67. They were more of a Jefferson Airplane style band than Byrds. Female singer, lots of jangly guitars with folk-style harmonies. Live they were pretty good, certainly better than the production on this recording. Didn't get much airplay locally and definitely not nationally.I think (not sure) they were originally from Colorado, went to CA, made 1 record (a single), then disappeared. ~by davequ

[1966] Big Jim Sullivan - She Walks Through The Fair
listen to the song:
In 1967/68, Big Jim Sullivan from the Middlesex, UK managed to record three very groovy Sitar albums. Sadly this was not meant to hold on. He played as a session-musician and did every sucking job he could get. Well, he played for the Hermint's Hermint's and the Kinks in studio, but it looks like that was only a job for him, nothing a idealist would be happy with. So it came that he even played 9 years for James Last, what is really strange while thinking back of those three first Sitar-Psych LP's. Anyway, this song is just a damn good piece of Acid Folk, enjoy!

[1966] Outcasts - Hard Lovin' Babe
listen to the song:
I know, it sucks, but the exact record date out there. the band never rleased it on 45, and also they propaply never did an album. 1966 is again just guessed. Ok, and now I will give you some lines I found on yoututbe about the girl, that is singing on this heavy-drum garage-psych track:
Linda Pierre King was a folk-rock singer from Houstan,Texas.Eight of her recordings are featured on The Heartbeats & Added Texas Girls of the 60s/We had the Beat compilation. She moved to New York and frequented the famous beatnik hangout, Beanie Baby's Java Hut. The "king of barbershop" Norm Wooster fell in love with her singing and caused a musical transformation within him. She was also a follower of the individualist philosopher Ayn Rand. The Outcasts, who backed her on this organ-driven track, are not the legendary 1523 Blair band.

[1966] Things - In Your Soul
listen to the song:
Comming from El Paso, Texas, they only released one Single in 1966 "Take It From Me / My Love". This track is from the Acid Visions Vol. 1, so I think it was prev. unreleased. No info to find, so I just guess it was recorded 1966 or 1967. Nice Organ driven Garage Rock will expect you! Enjoy! Greetings, Amadeus :)

[1966] Ashes - Roses Gone
listen to the song:
Sweet female voice, great music! Sounds a bit like Mamas & Papas, with some groovy guitar playing by John Merill. They only released 1 album called "The Ashes" in 1966.

"This Los Angeles band's original drummer was, of course, Spencer Dryden, before he joined Jefferson Airplane. The remaining members, aside from Taylor, later teamed up with Bill Wolff, Lance Feat and Sandi Robinson to become The Peanut Butter Conspiracy." ~ Fuzz, Acid & Flowers by Vernon Joynson

[1966] Jefferson Airplane - And I Like It
listen to the song:
This early Jefferson Airplane tune was so much ahead it's time already. Other Bands needed quite
longer to create a similiar sound - and some then only imitated the Jefferson Airplane style. But that's
in fact really nice, because if you're a JA fan as I am, then you surely agree, that there can't be enough
sound like the one JA created in their early years! Relaxed guitar play, soft male hashbury voice.
Furthermore, this is one here is an alternative take from 1966. The lyrics are pretty groovy as well:
This is my life
I'm satisfied
So watch it
Don't try to keep me tied
So why not
Let me be satisfied
This is my life
This is my Way
This is my time
This is my dream
You know i like it
This is my Way
It suits me fine
So watch it doing
Or i leave you behind
So why not
Fit your life in with mine
This is my way
This is my time
This is my dream
This is my life
You know i like it
I like it
Now tell me what you see
Is it the same thing you want me to be
I've seen it all happen so long before
Please believe when i say it's a bore
I need more
I need more
I need more more
This is my time
I'm doing my best
So watch it
Ain't gonna be like the rest, no
So why not
Get away from the mass
This is my time
This is my Dream
This is my way
This is my life
You know i like it
I like it
You know it's mine

[1966] Blues Magoos - Gotta Get Away
listen to the song:
This one is taken from the Blues Magoos' 1966 album "Psychedelic Lollipop"- a infantile funny name
by the way. Although the album title sounds like a LSD-drechned bubbglegum or popsike LP, the
Blues Magoos went into a clear garage-rock direction, quite similiar to the early Rolling Stones
sound. Their defiant vocals add a perfect proto-punk note to the relationship-issue-lyrics.

[1966] The Byrds - 5D (Fifth Dimension)
listen to the song:This song really blows my mind over and over again. The hypnotic folkrock the Byrds did before
their cowboy-era is already a psychedelic overdose, but with the lyrics on top you get immediately
blown to the fifth dimension... Enjoy!
Lyrics:
Oh, how is it that I could come out to you,
And be still floatin',
And never hit bottom but keep falling through,
Just relaxed and paying attention?
All my two-dimensional boundaries were gone,
I had lost to them badly,
I saw that world crumble and thought I was dead,
But I found my senses still working.
And as I continued to drop through the hole,
I found all surrounding,
To show me that joy innocently is,
Just be quiet and feel it around you.
(Bridge)
And I opened my heart to the whole universe,
And I found it was loving,
And I saw the great blunder my teachers had made,
Scientific delirium madness.
I will keep falling as long as I live,
Ah, without ending,
And I will remember the place that is now,
That has ended before the beginning ...
Oh, how is it that I could come out to you,
And be still floatin',
And never hit bottom but keep falling through,
Just relaxed and paying attention?
